STYLISH STATEMENT COLORS

Lately, our clients seem to be loving color, and everyone is looking for ways to break away from the expected white or neutral closet palette! We designers are always looking for new color inspo, and drawing inspiration from the places, makers, and brands we love! Today, I want to dive into some of the signature colors we all know and love, synonymous with modern luxury and high-end design, which I believe can really work their way into residential closet spaces.

“PORSCHE” CHALK

Porsche’s proprietary chalk color has really taken hold in recent years, and auto and design lovers alike seem to gravitate to this enigmatic shade! It’s a neutral that falls mysteriously between grey and beige, but feels decisively modern, and even a little masculine! I’d love to see more interior spaces working in this sophisticated futuristic shade!

“TIFFANY” BLUE

This luxury jewelry brand has long been synonymous with their namesake shade of blue! This color is easy on the eyes and complements almost any decor. I like to incorporate this shade as a soft suede drawer insert — the perfect backdrop for displaying jewelry and accessories!

“HERMES” ORANGE

Hermes has long been known for their signature shade of orange! Bold and cheerful, this color complements any fashion-forward decor, and many clients opt to reuse and display their eye-catching boxes! Other playful ways to nod to the brand in your closet include their patterned wallpapers, luxurious leather detailing, or playful accessories in their signature orange hue.

“BOTTEGA” GREEN

Bottega Veneta has reinvented themselves in recent years, and brought their signature shade of green into many fabulous closets! Their boutiques are all about soft woven leathers in playful colors, and what better way to bring that into your own home than with some woven leather accessories? This rich green gives a timeless elegance to any room!

“DIOR” GREY

Christian Dior does dusty powder blue and silvery grey like no one else. Their signature shade permeates their ready-to-wear, their packaging, and their boutique interiors. This color is easy to incorporate in big gestures — think wall treatments, upholstery, or even millwork finishes! Who wouldn’t swoon for a blue-grey Dior dressing room?!

“CHANEL” BLACK

No one does black like Chanel. Famed for their classic LBD and quilted leather bags, black caviar leather will always invoke ideas of the staple fashion house. If you’re looking to give a nod to Chanel in your closet, any collector will tell you tweed accessories and black lacquered finishes are the way to go!

“VALENTINO” RED

With a diffusion line of the same name, Valentino is widely known for their signature, bold use of bright red fabrics in their collections! You might think of this color as too bright and eye-catching for your home, but I think in the right application, a deep red accent in the closet can feel incredibly rich and romantic!
