LEVEL UP YOUR LAUNDRY ROUTINE

Lots of my clients are opting to incorporate laundry facilities in their dressing rooms, which makes perfect sense to me! What better way to streamline the care and maintenance of your clothes than having a washer / dryer right there in the closet?! This clever addition has inspired us to incorporate lots of convenient amenities in our clients’ closets, and today I want to share a few favorites that will make laundry day infinitely easier!

IRONING BOARDS

Storing away an ironing board can be a clunky and inconvenient part of getting ready! This is why I love an integrated pull-out ironing board in the closet. This takes the headache out of setting up a place to iron, and can be stowed away in a matter of seconds.

STEAMERS

Steamers are another integral part of getting ready for many of us, and it makes total sense to keep one in the closet! If you’re steaming items regularly, you’ll want a place to keep one close at hand, with an outlet nearby for easy access! If you have the space, an automatic steamer cabinet can also be a great addition, to ensure everything is wrinkle-free when you’re ready to walk out the door.

PACKING TABLES

Once your laundry is finished, it’s always nice to have a clean surface where you can fold and stack, and put everything away neatly! If you tend to clutter up an island or countertop, a pull-out packing table is a great solution to always have a clear surface, and stows away easily, requiring minimal space!

HAMPERS

A hamper in the closet is a must! I like to hide these within islands and drawers, so they don’t interrupt the overall design. Inside, you can outfit with multiple liners, so separating colors, dry cleaning, and tailoring doesn't become an added step in the laundering process!

VALET RODS

Finally, valet rods are perhaps the easiest and most underestimated feature for stepping up your laundry game! I like to outfit these throughout my clients’ closets, as they are the perfect place to stage new items, items to be laundered or tailored, or to hang a garment while you steam, so freshly pressed pieces don’t get wrinkled among all your other clothes!
