BOLD CLOSET COLORS

We all know the old adage “no white after Labor Day”, but what about when it comes to the closet?! White painted finishes have long been a staple choice for clients looking for a neutral closet backdrop! Today, in honor of the approaching holiday, I want to share some of my favorite inspo for breaking away from the classic white closet! Whether you’re looking for a neutral alternative, a mix of materials, or a bold playful colorway packed with personality, the possibilities to bring your closet to life are endless!

NATURAL WOODGRAINS

If you’re tired of seeing the standard white closet, a natural stained woodgrain is a great neutral alternative! It’s so versatile for any style of home, and can take on so many different personalities depending on the stain, decorative hardware, and styling you choose!

CLOSET CASHMERE

I created the Closet Cashmere paint color with my friends at Portola Paints as a fresh new neutral for closets and dressing rooms! It’s a perfect medium between blush and nude, and strays just enough from the traditional white closet, while still offering a light, neutral backdrop for all your clothing and accessories.

CONTRASTING INTERIORS

One fun way to break up an otherwise neutral closet is to incorporate contrasting cabinet backs and interiors! For instance, I like to line the interiors of select areas with silky wallpapers or a colorful printed fabric to inject a little personality, while maintaining the traditional look of the space!

ALL-OVER COLOR

If you’re someone who doesn’t shy away from color, an all-over lacquer finish can really transform a closet, and give it so much modern personality. Stepping into a monochromatic closet is like a little jewel box of inspiration, and can instantly put a smile on your face!

METALLIC FINISHES

Another classic way to dress up your closet is through metallic finishes! Metallic paints, leathers, and mirrored cabinetry can all give a sense of occasion and glamour, while staying true to the style of your home!
