SPORTY SPICE

We’ve all witnessed the rise of athleisure wear, and the way it’s taken over our wardrobes since the pandemic! Well, it seems we’ve finally come full circle, with many high end designers offering athletic collections, and even fully functional sports equipment! Today, I want to share a few of my current favorite designer sports items and some expert tips for storing your athletic items in the closet (whether they’re Chanel or Nike).

GEAR

No matter your sport, there are so many fun and fabulous designer collections from recent years! They might not improve your game, but they’ll definitely upgrade the experience on the court and will look great in your closet! I think luxury sports gear is such a playful intersection of fashion and function, and any of these would be a perfect gift item for the fashionable athlete.

WEAR

We’re also seeing more designer sports wear than ever before! Even brands like Gucci and Adidas are collaborating to bring together a shared love of youthful colors and playful prints. I personally love the idea of elevating a workout look, and that designers are willing to be bolder with patterns and colors when it comes to athletic wear collections! A fun workout fit makes getting exercise just a little bit more enjoyable!

STORAGE

When it comes to storing your sports and athleisure items, I always like to create a dedicated area for these pieces to live in the closet. For clothing, I prefer leggings and athletic pants on a sliding pull-out pant rack, with tops hanging immediately above! Sports bras, sweat bands, and socks can go into dedicated drawer inserts. I like to treat the gear like a little bit of artwork for the closet and display gym bags, rackets, and goggles for easy access! If you are looking to store bats and clubs in the closet, a custom standing pull-out is a great solution to keep these accessible and out of the way. Finally, footwear is often colorful and graphic, so I love to display sneakers together by color, maybe with backlighting for an added effect! Sometimes, depending on the style of shoe, its nice to turn them sideways for a more graphic and merchandised look.
