TIPS FOR A WRINKLE-FREE WARDROBE
One of the many duties of a well-designed closet is to keep your clothing looking its best for years to come! Today, I am sharing a few of my expert tips to keep your clothing and accessories protected and wrinkle-free for every wear!
HANGERS
Choosing the right hangers is critical when it comes to taking care of your clothing. Sweater hangers, lingerie hangers, and flocked fabric are all designed with specific garment types in mind, to avoid stretching, sagging, and unsightly wrinkles!
GARMENT BAGS
Garment bags are also a great option for protecting your delicate pieces, and keeping clothing separate when stored away. A soft layer of protection surrounding your blazers and blouses will ensure they come out of the closet looking freshly pressed every time!
STAGING AREAS
Staging areas are perfect for styling looks you plan to wear soon, and allow room for your clothes to breathe — without getting crammed into the rest of the closet. Space between hanging is the best thing you can do to ensure nothing gets wrinkled in the closet, and a staging area is the perfect place to pre-steam all your looks for the week ahead!
PURSE PILLOWS
Designer bags are often one of the largest investments in a closet, and many people don’t realize they can become damaged even just sitting on a shelf! For this reason, it’s so important to invest in properly-sized purse pillows, to keep your bags sitting straight and looking full, so they don’t develop wrinkles and creases when not in use.
BOOT TREES
Similar to your bags, your tall leather boots can often sag and become damaged by sitting on a shelf without wear. Seeing as this is usually a seasonal piece, your favorite pair of boots could come out of the closet with serious wrinkles from one year to the next. Hanging boot trees are great for filling out your boots, and keeping them sitting tall and proud when they’re stored away!
