BEYOND THE COVER: FAVORITE COFFEE TABLE BOOKS

The holiday season beckons book-lovers to cuddle up with a good read. If coffee table books excite you more than bedside novels, then it’s time to update your collection with some new releases. This year proved to be a good one for beautiful and engaging coffee table books. Here are a few worth bookmarking:

Architectural Digest at 100: A Century of Style -- A compilation of the design authority’s best material over the past century, this book pulls back the curtain on some of the most stylish spaces, from those belonging to Barack and Michelle Obama to David Bowie to Michael Kors.

Bill Cunningham: On the Street: Five Decades of Iconic Photography -- This is the first published collection of famous photog’s best street style snaps, complete with The New York Times favorites, as well as never-before-seen shots spanning five decades.

Breaking Ground: Architecture by Women -- This ground-breaking book spotlights stunning architecture designed by women from the early twentieth century to present day. Here’s to women breaking glass ceilings (and designing them, too!).

Lagerfeld: The Chanel Shows -- Though we lost one of the world’s most important fashion fixtures this year, his work lives on! Karl’s fashion shows were as legendary as his designs, and this book documents some of his most iconic presentations over the years.

Interiors: The Greatest Rooms of the Century -- A curation of some of the best living spaces designed over the past 100 years, this robust read is is the ultimate celebration of design and decoration.

Prabal Gurung: Style and Beauty with a Bite -- Prabal is a true visionary and has always championed women, especially female-dominated Asian cultures. So, I’m very excited about this book that catalogues never-before-seen photos, stories and design inspiration.

The White Company: For the Love of White' Book -- I love designing closets in white tones and this book has tons of great inspiration for how to incorporate the clean, versatile shade into various spaces and in a variety of ways.

Virgil Abloh: Figures of Speech -- This book takes a look at Virgil Abloh, an artist who has become the master of merging high culture with streetwear, and his multitude of cool creations.

Last, but not least, If you haven’t yet picked up my coffee table book, Closet Design Bible, there’s no better time to gather some inspiration for a closet revamp in 2020!
