RUNWAY RECAP
I'm giving you a rundown of the NYFW runways in a New York minute!
I just returned from a whirlwind trip to NYFW where I worked on a really fun project for the talented Michael Costello. For more on my collaboration with him backstage, check out my last post!
While I was in the Big Apple to work, I did manage to squeeze in a few of the SS18 collection shows!
Here were a few highlights:
Assembly
A sundrenched patio served as a cool-kids runway for this show. The setting made it feel like the models -- who were decked in innovative silhouettes and neon -- were out to a cool new brunch spot rather than walking the runway!
Brock Collection
Delicate and romantic, but still a bit raw and undone, looks from this gorgeous collection have me dreaming of long, sunny days and far-off voyages.
Milly
Embracing femininity and girl-power, Creative Director Michelle Smith’s presentation featured stylish skirt and top sets and ruffles for days!
Nomia
Though this show took place at beloved NYC eatery, Max Fish, it was more a feast for the eyes than the stomach. The collection satiated my fashion appetite with billowy monochromatic pieces and clean, simple silhouettes.
Noon by Noor
It seemed like models were floating down the catwalk as this collection showcased a lot of ethereal white looks -- from A-line skirts to lace coverups -- along with some chic basics like black dresses.
Pamella Roland
With Monaco as the collection’s inspiration, glamour was center stage...and who doesn’t love a strong glam game? Models sashayed down the runway in beautifully detailed dresses featuring lace, ombre sequins, ostrich feathers, and metallic fringe that gave me major heart eyes throughout the show.
Tadashi Shoji
This celeb-adored brand knows how to rock and runway and this season was no exception. From flirty floral lace frocks to bold striped looks, this whimsical collection made perennial prints feel young and fresh.
