TAHOE
When you live in La La Land, a winter wonderland is more of a fantasy than a reality. But, over the holidays I was lucky enough to visit Lake Tahoe and fulfill my desire for a white Christmas. Snowcapped mountains, powder-dusted pine trees and fluffy white ski slopes made for the ultimate winter escape.
If you’re planning a trip to the majestic mountain town to satisfy your snow-filled fantasies, here are my recommendations when visiting Incline Village, Lake Tahoe:
Where to Stay:
Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa & Casino - Situated in the center of town, this hotel has it all -- comfortable rooms, numerous amenities and a spa to work out those post-ski aches.
Airbnb - There are tons of great mountain cabins and lodges for rent that can accommodate large and small groups, and make you feel right at home.
Where to Eat:
La Fondue - There’s nothing better than a warm and hearty meal to compliment cold weather, and this restaurant checks all the boxes. Besides, who doesn’t love fondue?!
Lakeside Beach Bar & Grill - Go for the apres ski, stay for the views.
What to Wear:
Perfect Moment - This British brand knows how to blend fashion with function, offering a range of performance gear that will make you feel more like you’re strutting down a runway than carving down a mountain.
Eugenia Kim - No winter wardrobe is complete without a good beanie. I love the hand-knit offerings from iconic headwear designer, Eugenia Kim. They are the softest, warmest and most luxe hats around.
Sorel - Leave your heels at home and opt for stylish snow boots. Sorel has plenty of color, height and design options that won’t break the bank.
Canada Goose - When temps drop well below freezing, you’ll be glad you have a warm and comfortable coat. The parkas from Canada Goose are built for extreme temps and also have a stamp of approval from the most discerning fashionistas.
Mr&Mrs Italy - For the ultimate snow bunnies, you can’t beat these colorful fur-trimmed jackets that are as chic as they are cozy. If you’re looking for a snowy-weather splurge, this is it!
